I love sermon jams, and this is one of those sermon jams that you have to listen to. Albert N. Martin is a modern day Puritan preacher who knows how to rightly divide the word of truth. In this sermon A. N. Martin proclaims the importance of getting our gospel grammar right, of putting the indicatives (objective statements) before the imperatives (commands; implications; applications). We must first know what Christ has accomplished for us and who we are in Christ before we can properly live like Christ. This is why Paul, in Colossions for example, first teaches on the Deity of Christ, the cross of Christ, and our union with Christ, prior to expounding the necessity of a holy life. Martin likewise stresses the importance of doctrinal preaching, and of our need to desire such preaching.
