The Keach Conference is an annual theology and ministry conference presented by the Reformed Baptist Fellowship of Virginia. The conference date is from September 28-29, and will meet at the Covenant Lower School, 1000 Birdwood Court, Charlottesville, Virginia 22903 and is hosted by the Christ Reformed Baptist Church of Charlottesville, Virginia. They are continuing their ongoing series through the Second London Baptist Confession (1689 Baptist Confession of Faith). This year they are on Chapter Six “Of the Fall of Man, of Sin, and of the Punishment Thereof.” The speakers will be Dr. Carl Trueman (Professor of Historical Theology at Westminster Seminary in Philadelphia, Pennsylvania); Pastor Lloyd Sprinkle (Pastor of Providence Baptist Church in Harrisonburg, Virginia and founder of Sprinkle Publications); and Pastor Bryan Wheeler (Pastor of Emmanuel Baptist Church, Verona, Virginia). There is no admission fee (it’s free!); however attendees are encouraged to “pre-register”. You can do so here. At the time of this post there are 149 tickets left. Each day will consist of two messages.
Message 1: Does the Bible Teach a “Covenant of Works”? (by Dr. Trueman)
Message 2: What Is “Total Depravity”? (by Pastor Sprinkle)
Message 1: What Is the Doctrine of “Original Sin”? (by Dr. Trueman)
Message 2: The Reality of Remaining Sin (by Pastor Wheeler)
As a side note, in light of the recent article by Dr. Rick Patrick, a pastor within the Southern Baptist Confession, entitled, “I Never Ate the Apple: A Defense of Inherited Sinful Nature Without Inherited Guilt”, in which he denies the historical understanding of original sin (which includes inherited guilt; see Ch. 6 para. 3 of the 1689 BCF), Dr. Trueman’s message on the doctrine of original sin should be quite enlightening.
